ISU qualifies 9 public high schools for iSchools

The Isabela State University announced the qualified recipients for the 2007 iSchools Project after inspecting the sites from May 29 – June 18, 2008.

Nine public high schools: four in Ifugao and five in La Union, which are both from the northern part of the country, will benefit the project.
  • Haliap National High School (Ifugao)
  • Ayangan National High School (Ifugao)
  • Banaue National High School (Ifugao)
  • Hungduan National High School (Ifugao)
  • Damortis National High School (La Union)
  • Bawanta National High School (La Union)
  • Acao National High School (La Union)
  • Bail National High School (La Union)
  • San Manuel National High School (La Union)

This project is an initiative of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology - Human Capital Development Group in support of the Department of Education in integrating ICT in education in public high schools.

The 2007 iSchools Project aims to determine and improve the freely available Internet based applications and digital content to support instruction and learning for all students and teachers in different public high schools in the country.

The project kicked off with a briefing held in Tagatay from May 26-28, 2008 headed by Antonette Torres, CICT project manager, participated by different state universities and colleges (SUC’s) representatives.

Though the ISU president, Dr. Romeo R. Quilang is scheduled to sign the Memorandum of Agreement, the university confirmed intent support to the 2007 iSchools Project through Dr. Mary Jane Bitanga, ISU-ICT coordinator, who attended the event.
The ISU then is set to train and develop the said public high schools to implement the 2007 iSchools Project.
